Message from Captain Mike Hoult – Captain’s charity Day details 1st July

Dear members

Time to clarify the day’s events etc.

You can sign-up in the pro shop or on BRS which should be open for you.

The competition will be aggregate pairs stableford (i.e. the two players scores added together), off full playing handicaps and off yellow tees.

The competition is open to all members and guests – 5 day members at no extra course fee and non-members an additional £25 course fee.

The entry fee is £15 per team i.e. £7.50 each.

I’m hopeful that you will all enter the specials for £5 per player to cover entry and prizes in the two’s on par 6 and 10, nearest the ditch line in front of the ditch on the 9th, the longest drive nearest the line on the 17th fairway and prior to teeing off there will be a blind putting competition on the putting green – it will consist of one put made blindfolded, on one hole and the winner will be the one who records nearest the hole – if there is a tie there will be a shared prize ( this should start your round off with a good laugh).

There will be further prizes for the 1st and 2nd teams.

As is common with these events, I’m looking for people/companies to sponsor holes, £50 each would be wonderful, and contributions for a prizes for a raffle on the day. Please contact me if you are able to help with these.

There will be a barbeque after your round which you are welcome to bring family members to, so that they can enjoy the food and atmosphere too, as well as see the Guide Dogs demonstration team perform near the putting green – there will be some Guide Dog volunteers present to and children may be lucky enough to get up close and personal with their puppies. The adult fee for the BBQ will be £13 (to be confirmed) and will be worth the money – tickets will be on sale at registration on the day in Tawny’s.

I’m hoping to have drinks available between the 8th and 9th holes but will see nearer the day.

Anyone wishing to help me get things organised and running smoothly on the day will be welcomed, so please just let me know.

Woburn 4 ball raffle tickets are also now on sale. To remind you that this is a prize currently worth almost £1000, allowing a 4 ball to book and play any of the three championship Woburn courses and is valid until December 2024. If you can’t get to see me personally to purchase tickets, email me on [email protected] or message me via text or WhatsApp on 07447 584959 and I’ll sort you out. Anyone can buy tickets and can buy as many as they like.

And, finally, for those who would like to support our efforts to raise money for Guide Dogs but who can’t attend, you are most welcome to contribute via my Just Giving page using this link (the money goes direct to Guide Dogs) http://www.justgiving.com/page/mike-hoult-1682076523941

I’m looking forward to seeing you on the day and hoping that you’ll be as generous as you have been in the past.

Kindest

Hoults
