Update from the Worcester Handicap League – The Abbey sitting in 2nd place

Lots of games still to be played here. Hagley are atop of the division with 7 points from their 6 games followed closely by The Abbey with 6 from 5. RavenMeadow & Perdiswell Park held Ombersley A at the weekend which hurt their prospects of being title contenders as they now sit in third place with 5 points, but with still half their games to be played they still have a solid chance of leaping up the league. The Vale follow behind with 4 points from 4 games, again half their games still to play means they have every opportunity to rise quickly up this competitive division. RavenMeadow & Perdiswell are are propping the others up with their 2 points from 5 games, mathematically still in contention but would need a a sea change in results for them to get near the top. It is really difficult to call this division, so many games still to play that the top 4 teams all have great chances to win

Key Fixtures: The next 2 fixtures in the division feature Ombersley A so their chances will be greatly enhanced with results against The Vale and The Abbey. Similarly the other two teams can make a bold statement and deliver severe blows to a strong contender if they are able to take points from them. Hagley on top will be watching nervously whilst their visit to RavenMeadow can cement their slot at the top if the other results go their way. This could go right down to the wire with the final 2 fixtures featuring the top 4 teams.
