Whitaker & Goddard Take the Win at Julie Rosado’s Captain’s Drive-In

We had a fantastic day at Abbey Golf Club on Saturday for this year’s Captain’s Drive-In, marking the start of Julie Rosado’s captaincy. Despite the chilly weather, spirits were high and the course—challenging but dry for a change—set the stage for some great golf from all 18 teams.
Congrats to the winners, Nigel Whitaker & Mark Goddard, who dominated the field with a score of 65.05.
Coming in second were Craig Dunn & Stew Owen with 69.3, and close behind in third were Andy Davill & Mark Hampton on 69.4.
Julie raised over £1,000 on the day for her chosen charity, Acorns Hospice—a brilliant start to her year as captain.
“I’m honestly so proud—and a bit overwhelmed—to be asked to be club captain,” said Julie. “We’ve got the most amazing members here. It’s not just about golf; it’s about the friendships and the community we’ve built.”
On choosing Acorns, she added: “It’s such an incredible charity. I’ve visited recently and was blown away by the work they do—it’s truly humbling.”
Thanks again to everyone who played, donated, and supported the day.
